Give a Child Its Right

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

14th November is Children’s Day & just six days later November 20, is observed as Child Rights Day, the whole world celebrates the day on which the United Nations adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The Rights of children are grouped broadly into four: 1. The right to survival: to live, to health care, to good nutritious food, to a legally registered name and a nationality. 2. Right to Development: to quality education, to leisure, to recreation, to proper care, a home and a family 3. Right to protection: from harm, neglect, abuse and exploitation 4.Right to participation: to freedom of expression and thought.

However, the reality is far removed from the idealistic situation described above. Despite laws, Rights etc, the harsh fact remains that a majority of children in India and elsewhere too, do not have access to basic needs like education, shelter, and nutrition etc.

Being a responsible citizen, we can provide children the first right at least, the right to health care & good nutritious food. All we need to do is simply log on to BookMyKhana.com, check out restaurants, check their online menus, select items & order online. The food will be served fresh & hot at your desired address and after that distribute it among the poor & hungry kids n & around you. Do it now, because it’s now or never.

Let Your Kindness, Make a Difference

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

World Kindness Day, a day when every human being shows kindness & acts for the other. The purpose of World Kindness Day is to look beyond ourselves, beyond the boundaries of our country, beyond our culture, our race, our religion; and realise we are citizens of the world. As world citizens we have a commonality, and must realise that if progress is to be made in human relations and endeavours the only thing that helps is kindness, when we find likenesses with someone, we begin to experience kindness.
There are so many people in the world to show kindness to. Show your kindness to someone who really needs it. If you look around or while moving around the city, you are bound to come across poor & hungry children, pleading for food. Why not show some kindness to them & feed them. If cooking is a problem then log on to BookMyKhana.com and check out online menus, select dishes or sweets & order online to request your food or sweets at your desired address.
Distribute the food & sweets amongst those poor and hungry children. See the faces filled with smile & eyes blessing your soul. Show your act of kindness. Make a Difference!
